Join the Leslie Maclean Trio as they kick off the Summer Peace Garden Concert Series at the Central Presbyterian Church on Campbell Street at Armour in midtown Kansas City, MO. With Leslie on keys and vocals, Bob Bowman on bass and Jerry Pollock on drums, this promises to be a fabulous evening of piano jazz. The trio will be performing for the first time a number of arrangements which will be featured on their upcoming CD, "Rhinocerous". The concert will take place in the garden, so bring your lawn chairs! Refreshments are provided by the church. (Please note that the performance will take place in the church fellowship hall in the event of inclement weather.) The music starts at 6pm. Leslie and I will be performing at a big Blues event, the 'Sisters of Soul', this coming Saturday at Blayney's in Westport. The event features 9 of the top female performers in Kansas City. Leslie will be performing with Penelope and the Unusual Suspects at 3pm, and will perform in her own slot at 5pm. The cover charge is $7 and part of the proceeds go to breast cancer reserach. The entire event runs from 3pm to 2am, with a jam session starting at about 10pm. Come by and enjoy a great event with great performers! |
